Now working as a store manager, he plays an active part in the community, either through his role as Secretary of his local allotment association or volunteering for local organisations. This includes setting up Hartlepool Wildlife Rescue, which works alongside organisations to help wildlife and animals in need.
Antony, 28, is now taking a further step in making a difference by standing as a candidate for the Veterans’ and People’s Party in this year’s local elections.
He chose VAPP because he likes the local ‘feel’ of the party.
He says: “It’s very different to other parties because it’s a party of the people, which is what Hartlepool needs.
“I have often felt let down by our local services and believe, as a town, we deserve a better and honest council that offers value for money, with the people at the heart of delivering our town’s services.
“Hopefully, if I am elected, I can play my part for the ward and town in general in seeing this is done.”
